Southern Soul Greens & Smoked Turkey Soup

A hearty, comforting soup packed with smoky and savory flavors!

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch of Southern Soul Greens Seasoning Mix
  • 2 cups chopped collard greens (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 smoked turkey leg or 2 smoked turkey wings
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can (15 oz) white beans, drained
  • 1 diced tomato (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, heat chicken broth over medium heat. Add smoked turkey, onion, and garlic.
  2. Stir in Southern Soul Greens Seasoning Mix and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Add collard greens and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour until tender.
  4. Stir in white beans and diced tomato (if using) and let simmer for 10 more minutes.
  5. Remove turkey, shred the meat, and return it to the soup.
  6. Serve hot with cornbread or crusty bread.
